WELCOMEto the website of The Catholic Church in the Isle of Skye. We hope this will bring together all who attend both churches, St. Mary's in Portree and St. Maolrubha (pronounced mull-roo-ah) in Broadford. It may also inform all the visitors who have come here in the past as well as those who are thinking of coming to Skye in the future. HOW TO GET TO EITHER CHURCH From the Skye Bridge take the A87 signposted to Portree.

Turn right at the sign for Broadford Youth Hostel just past the Broadford Hotel, and follow the road which leads to the head of the pier.

Just before entering Portree you will see the Portee High School on your left. Turn left at the school, remaining on the A87, and then take the first turning on the left and immediately left again. The church has its own car park. In case you need to ask anyone the way, the church is known locally as St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, and is in Viewfield Square.

Baptisms, Marriages and Funerals have all been held in the Skye Churches recently, as well as First Communions and First Confessions. It will shortly be necessary to prepare some of our children for the Sacrament of Confirmation. There are many families with young children in the Parish. People from all over the world come to Skye to be married, and our Churches are a popular venue for these ceremonies.
