Sunday 21st April 2002

On Sunday 21st April 2002, the Feast of St. Maolrubha and 1280 years after his death, at 4 pm the first Catholic pilgrimage for centuries, if ever, went to Ashaig to the Holy Well, and to the Pulpit Rock from which the saint used to preach the Gospel. The pilgrimage was led by Fr. James MacNeil. Despite appalling weather there were 26 parishioners from Portree and Broadford, half of them children. Prayers were said, and one decade of the Rosary, the Assumption, in honour of the Patroness of our church in Portree.
